Day 1 Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National park
This morning, you will be met by your guide for transfer to Uganda’s most visited National Park. You are to have lunch on the Mweya peninsula and then begin your adventure with a boat trip on the Kazinga channel which will give you an opportunity to see many animals including; crocodiles, hippos, elephants, kobs, monitor lizards and so on. Also expect to see many bird species including; the marabou stalk, African Fish Eagle, pelicans, cormorants and so on. We then go for an evening game drive in the Kasenyi sector. This is a mating ground for antelopes and there for a good hunting area for lions, leopards, hyenas and other cats. We later check in our lodge for overnight.
Day 2 Game drives and boat trip
We wake up early for a morning game drive to search for the early risers. This is the best time to spot predators such as lions, leopards and the spotted hyena. We then drive back to our lodge for late breakfast and later visit Lake Munyanyange to see flamingos. We proceed to the Katwe Salt Lake. This Lake has been in existence since the 16th century and is responsible for the survival of people in Katwe village. You will see/get to know how local salt is extracted and made ready for consumption and sale in this area. We end our day with an evening game drive in the Kabatoro sector which is famous for large herds of elephants and is also a feeding ground for hippos. This evening, be ready to take a picture of a feeding hippo.
Day 3 Chimpanzee tracking
After breakfast, we prepare ourselves for the once in a life time experience (chimpanzee tracking). You may track the chimps in the Kyambura Gorge or Imaramagambo Forest or Kalinzu Forest; the choice is yours. This activity is a bit challenging but very rewarding, so expect to walk for one to six hours depending where the chimps will be on this day. Having encountered them, you will be given a full hour to enjoy your time. The chimpanzees’ behavior can provide a clue to that of our early ancestors. We then start our journey to the Ishasha sector to search for the rare tree climbing lions.
Day 6 Transfer to Kampala/Entebbe
We wake up for early breakfast and later embark on a game drive to search for some game. Expect to see elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, hyenas, leopards and so on. Towards noon, expect to see the tree climbing lions lazing in the fig trees. We then drive to our lodge for lunch and start our long journey to Kampala/Entebbe.
